 MEET SUMMARIES

Congratulations to Marisa Perreault on her performance at the IHSA State Meet, held this past Saturday in Peoria.  Marisa placed 76th out of over 200 of the finest runners in the State.  A great finish to a great season.  Way to go, Marisa! 

PERREAULT ADVANCES TO STATE
 

Mundelein Mustang Marisa Perreault qualified for the IHSA State Meet being held next Saturday, November 5th, at historic Detweiler Park in Peoria.  Marisa qualified as an individual at the tough Schaumburg Sectional, taking 27th place overall.  Claire Naughton,  Steph Johnson, and Ellie Palacios also had very strong performances as the Mustangs took 9th out of 21 teams.  Emily Schlebecker, Kelsey Loar, and Sophie Presutti completed the scoring.  Good luck to Marisa next week in Peoria! 

 

MUSTANGS WIN REGIONAL!
 

Congratulations go out to the Mustangs Girls Cross Country team.  On Saturday the Mustangs won their first ever IHSA Regional title with a total of 47 points.  The Mustangs were led by individual champion Claire Naughton and runner-up Steph Johnson.  The Mustangs also received outstanding performances from Emily Schlebecker in 8th, Ellie Palacios in 15th, Kelsey Loar and Marisa Perreault in 21st and 22nd, and Sophia Presutti in 28th.  Great job, Mustangs!  The Mustangs move on to compete in the extremely tough Schaumburg Sectional next Saturday, October 29th.  Come out and support your team!
 

 
MUSTANGS WIN LAKES DIVISION CROWN!
Congratulations to the Mustangs for winning the NSC Lakes Division Title!  The Mustangs clinched the Division on Monday, beating Zion-Benton 18-44 in a dual meet.  They were led by Steph Johnson, who was the individual winner.  Johnson was follwed into the chute by Marisa Perreault in 2nd, Ellie Palacios, Emily Schlebecker, and Claire Naughton in 4th through 7th, and Sophie Presutti and Morgan Lohr in 9th and 10th.



On Monday the Mustangs played host to Stevenson HS at the Diamond Lake Sports Complex.  The Mustangs defeated Stevenson 20-41 in another strong team performance.  The first runner into the chute was from Stevenson, but was followed by 6 Mustangs in a row.  Marisa Perreault, Ellie Palacios, Claire Naughton, Stephanie Johnson, Emily Schlebecker, and Kelsey Loar finished from 2nd to 7th.  Lauren Anderson in 10th rounded out the top 7.



On Saturday the Mustangs competed in the prestigious Palatine Invitational.  The Varsity squad placed 15th out of 29 teams in a race which featured several of the top ranked teams in the country.  The Mustangs were led with a strong performance by Marisa Perreault in 45th place out of over 190 runners.  Also performing well were Claire Naughton, Emily Schlebecker, Steph Johnson, and Ellie PalaciosSophie Presutti led the Mustangs with a 55th place finish in the F/S race. 



On Monday the Mustangs swept a pair of dual meets, beating Lake Zurich 21-34, and Libertyville 26-29.  The Mustangs were led by Marisa Perreault, Claire Naughton, and Ellie Palacios, who took 2nd, 3rd, and 4th overall.  Steph Johnson took 9th and Emily Schlebecker took 14th to complete the scoring.  Morgan Lohr and Kelsey Loar took 18th and 19th to round out the top 7.



On Saturday the Mustangs Varsity Squad brought home a trophy from the Warren Invite, taking 4th out of 21 teams.  They were led by Marisa Perreault who took 7th. Also medaling was Ellie Palacios, who took 25th.  The scoring was completed with Stephanie Johnson and Claire Naughton taking 39th and 40th, and Emily Schlebecker in 47th.  The F/S squad took 11th out of 17 teams, and were led by strong performances by freshmen Kelsey Loar and Sophia Presutti, who took 6th and 7th out of over 240 runners.  Clarissa Montiel, Ashley Parola and Libby Pettett rounded out the scoring for the Mustangs.  The Girls' Open race saw the Mustangs Put 4 runners in the top 14 runners, led by Hannah Smith in 8th..  Also placing high were Emily Zagula, Lisa Nootbaar, and Katherine Schlebecker in 12th, 13th, and 14th out of over 220 runners.


On Monday the Mustangs split a pair of dual meets, losing to Lake Forest 24-31, and beating Warren 44-19 (see Photos).  The Lady Harriers were led by Claire Naughton, who took first overall.  Naughton was followed into the chute by Marisa Perreault, Ellie Palacios, Emily Schlebecker, and Stephanie Johnson, who finished 7th through 10th.  Lauren Anderson in 12th and Morgan Lohr in 15th rounded out the top 7.  Up next for the Mustangs is the Warren Invite on Saturday the 17th.  The meet will be held at the O'Plaine Warren Campus, which can be found on O'Plaine Rd. north of Washington St.



On Saturday the Mustangs competed at the Wauconda Invitational at Lakewood Forest Preserve (see Photos).  The Varsity squad placed 8th out of 25 teams with 223 points.  The Mustangs were led by Marisa Perreault in 12th place.  Emily Schlebecker was next in in 42nd place, followed by Ellie Palacios in 47th, Morgan Lohr in 59th, and Lauren Anderson in 60th.  In the F/S race, the Mustangs took 14th out of 17 teams.  The Mustangs were led by freshman Kelsey Loar, who finished 31st out of 247 runners.  Loar was followed by freshman Sophia Presutti in 43rd, sophomores Emma McGowen and Clarissa Montiel in 108th and 162nd, and freshman Ashley Parola in 171st.  The Open race saw Stephanie Johnson take 9th, followed by Lisa Nootbaar and Katie Schlebecker in 15th and 16th, with Elise Erickson running a big PR and taking 55th. 



Congratulations go out to our Mustangs for winning their dual meet against Round Lake by the score of 43-20.  The Lady Mustangs showed off their pack by taking places 2 through 13.  5 seconds separated the first 10 Mustangs.  The first five into the chute were juniors Marisa Perreault, Ellie Palacios, Stephanie Johnson, and Morgan Lohr, followed by sophomore Emily Schlebecker.
